         MPPPA -  Registered Breeders Code of Ethics

 

1.      Abide by the rules and by laws of the MPPPA

2.      Comply with my local Council & DPI rules and regulations for the keeping of pigs.

3.      Notify the MPPPA registry immediately if any M/R Miniature Pig/s are measured higher than 60cm to the front shoulder and have them reclassified on the Registry.

4.      Ensure good husbandry practices are maintained in a clean, healthy, non-stressful environment for breeding stock and piglets and retain a veterinarian for advice.

5.      Keep breeding records for the purpose of further breeding and improving the breed.

6.      Sows are to be a minimum of 1 year of age to mate with the boar for breeding, according to their size, and development.

7.      Notify the MPPPA Registry of all piglet litters born within 21 days.

8.      Wean piglet/s at a minimum of 4 weeks of age.

9.      Piglet/s must be a minimum age of 6 weeks, eating solid food and basically socialised before  being re-homed.

10.  Ensure that all pet stock sold are:

7a - Neutered or spayed prior to placement.

7b - Identified.

7c – Vaccinated & Wormed according to local DPI requirements.

7d - Supply clients with information regarding adequate feeding, housing, training, care and provide ongoing support to clients
